Getting a Library Card
If you are over 18 years old and:
- Live in the Lemont Public Library District or
- Own or lease commercial property in the Lemont Public Library District
You may obtain a library card by completing an application, showing a valid photo ID and showing proof of current residency. (a current driver's license, utility bill or bank statement will fulfill this requirement)
If you are over 18 years old and do not fulfill the above requirements, you may purchase a non-resident card if you do not pay taxes to any other library and the Lemont Public Library is the geographically closest library to you.
If you are under 18 years old, to get a library card you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who has a library card and signs the application for you.
Library cards must be verified for current address every three years.
You may print out this application and bring it to the library
Temporary Library Card - You may register for a temporary library card prior to visiting the library to get your actual card. This will allow you to request materials in the mean time.
