About Youth Services

Welcome to the Youth Services department! Our staff is waiting to help you find what you need, whether it's a recommendation for an easy reader or a calendar of our upcoming events. Stop by our service desk for a chat!

We offer a wide variety of books, movies, music, audiobooks, science kits, and more to entertain and introduce your children to a world of knowledge at every age. We also have seating to relax and read or to work on homework. Work is important, but so is play! We have a dedicated area with puzzles, Duplos, and games to use at the library.

Lemont Public Library Social Story

Our PDF iconLPL Social Story Feb 2022.pdf uses simple words and pictures to show kids what to expect while visiting the library. This guide is intended to clarify social expectations and build visual familiarity with the library, which can be especially helpful for kids who need extra support during new or possibly challenging situations. We hope this story makes your visit to the library a more comfortable and positive experience.

The Children's Activity Center

We plan and host a variety of events for children including storytimes, art programs, and more! Learn more about our events by visiting Event Signup. Most of our programs happen in our Children's Activity Center, located right here in the Youth Services Department. In addition to hosting programs, the room also features a family restroom with a changing table.

Feeling Unwell?

Please help us keep all our patrons healthy by staying home if your kids are sick. We look forward to your visit when they are feeling well again!

Need some games, videos, or books to keep the kids occupied when they are ill? What about some items for yourself too? Fill out our Materials Request form, and our staff will check out the items and have them waiting for pick up in the library vestibule.
